CRBN Kishu Binchotan Charcoal - Waterbottle Filter

*Includes 2 pieces of charcoal

Kishu Binchotan is a finely crafted traditional activated charcoal made from Holm Oak, a hardwood native to the Wakayama prefecture in Japan. Its production dates back to the Tokugawa period (1603 - 1868) and the methods to produce it have remained unchanged over the years. During a two-week period skilled artisans carbonize the charcoal by heating it to 1200 degrees celcius then quickly cool it, a process formally called "nerashi". Nerashi creates billions of cavities that give Kishu Binchotan a negative ion charge that draws impurities and naturally enriches conventional tap water.

This pure form of carbon readily adsorbs or bonds with toxins, principally metals, at the molecular level. Kishu Binchotan Charcoal has been found to be effective at reducing: LEAD, MERCURY, COPPER, ALUMINUM, URANIUM, and MOLYBDENUM to name a handful. In addition, CRBN Charcoal imparts three minerals: Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium.

In our experience, when Kishu Binchotan Charcoal is in extended contact with water (such as overnight) it removes chlorine taste as well.
