Treats: Throat irritation, cough, colds, sinusitis, nasal drip, pharyngitis, laryngitis

In this combination, marshmallow acts as an emollient of the respiratory tract to calm coughs, sore throat and irritation of the upper respiratory tract. Purple echinacea (E. purpurea) and narrow-leaf echinacea (E. angustifolia) act as immune tonics in the treatment of colds, sore throat due to colds and upper respiratory tract infections. Red raspberry is tonic and astringent of irritated mucus membranes and calms sore throats. Valerian acts as an antispasmodic to calm coughs and as an analgesic to soothe sore throat. Propolis is antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory of the mucus membranes and increases the efficiency of the mix to calm coughs, soothe sore throat and relieve infections.

    • Marshmallow soothes coughs and irritation of the respiratory tract. Queen of emollients, it acts directly on the epithelial cells of the respiratory tract. Its mucilage forms a protective coating; it is used in all conditions of dryness, irritation and inflammation of the mucus membranes.
    • Echinacea fights infection. Although very similar, there are notable differences between Purple echinacea, which is more antibacterial, and Narrow-leaf echinacea, which is a stronger immune tonic which promotes the normal defense reactions of the organism. A combination of these two species gives optimal results. Echinacea is used for all types of infection, whether viral or bacterial.
    • Astringent and stimulant, red raspberry is used in the treatment of catarrh and sore throat.
    • Valerian is a very interesting antispasmodic for persistent coughs.
    • Propolis is mostly antibiotic and anti-inflammatory.
